Resilience, curiosity, bravery, service, care, and teamwork are just some of the characteristics that define every member of our WHOSAY team.
Previously, you’ve had the chance to meet four WHOSAYers who embody these qualities; Katina Kontarakis, West Coast Account Director, Mike Swart, Head of Shopping Marketing, Lisa Bryant, Marketing Manager and Sam Jones, Master Storyteller.
Founded in 2010, WHOSAY is built from the best of entertainment, technology, and advertising. The people that power WHOSAY are an incredible blend of advertising, technology and media professionals that foster a wonderful spirit of creativity, innovation, and commitment. Today you will get to know another one of our team’s members; Kay Blair, Digital Media Buyer.
WHOSAY: What’s a typical day at WHOSAY like?
Kay Blair: Calculation...a lot of numbers, doing the math from college that I swore I was never going to need in my future, staring at numerous excel sheets, chasing down [Account Manager] Stephen Glasco for important information and asking [VP, Media & Data] Matt Krueger fifty questions a day…. Yeah, that’s a typical day.
WS: What’s the most challenging part of your job? And what’s the part you enjoy the most?
KB: The most challenging part is keeping up with a lot of campaigns at the same time but I also enjoy it because it keeps me on my toes. I learn even more valuable information from each and every campaign.
WS: What is your role at WHOSAY?
KB: As the media buyer, I am the one flooding everyone’s timelines with our amazing influencer marketing campaigns…. (sorry.) I believe my role is important here because I help to make sure that our content is distributed to the right audiences in order to maximize reach and spark user engagements.
WS: Who is someone at WHOSAY that inspires you and why?
KB: [VP, Legal & Business Affairs] Kittie Palakovich is very inspiring to me, she’s very adventurous, highly intelligent and firmly decisive but she can also balance those with being approachable and supportive.
WS: What was your job before coming to WHOSAY?
KB: Before WHOSAY, I was on the client side. I was the Paid Social Manager at Society Agency within the IPG Mediabrands family.
WS: What don’t most people know about you?
KB: I was a contestant running for Miss New Jersey Teen USA in 2008. After that, I went into print modeling.
WS: What is the best advice you have ever received?
KB: My late great-grandmother Ms. Barnett said, “Every little thing makes something, the small things do count.” (In her Jamaican accent*)
GETTING TO KNOW YOU is a series of interviews with the WHOSAY team and an excuse to listen to Julie Andrews, as if you needed one.
