Name: Sam Rich

Hometown: Beverly, MA

School: Tulane University

Role at WHOSAY: Account Coordinator

Prior role: Marketing Consultant at Optimac Consulting

Dream creator(s) to work with: Donald Glover, Casey Neistat, and Jordan Peele

Favorite thing about advertising: The learning never stops, and the landscape is ever-developing; presenting an awesome opportunity to develop new ideas/strategies based on audience engagement from past campaigns.

Most challenging aspect of the industry: Millennials typically don’t trust traditional advertising. Identifying new approaches to engage with consumers in a way that’s relevant and useful to audiences on social media platforms is critical for future success.

Secret life hack: Work from a list. With so many moving pieces and new developments in different campaigns, it’s super important to prioritize and list out everything that needs to get done to stay on track.

Interesting fact about yourself: After high school, I was an exchange student in Chile for 11 months. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, being the only American in a small village within the southern Patagonia region for a year. Learned a lot about relating to others from different backgrounds and became a pro at baking empanadas.

Best advice you’ve ever received: “Life punishes the vague wish and rewards the specific ask.”

If you woke up tomorrow as an animal, what animal would you choose to be and why?
Dog, I’d have a great time running around, being excited about everything happening around me and playfully hanging out all day.

If you had your own late night talk show, who would you invite as your first guest? Nathan Fielder; I’m obsessed with his dry humor and ridiculous business solutions in his show, Nathan For You – highly recommend watching.

If you had to delete all but three apps from your smartphone, which ones would you keep? Spotify, Google Maps, and Headspace.

What are the last three emoji you used on your phone?
👌🤷🏼‍♂️😂

BONUS: Go-to karaoke song: “Wait for the Moment” by Vulfpeck. Antwaun Stanley is a singing god.
