Getting to Know You: Here’s How Creative Manager Danielle Hester Gets Hyped-up for the Day

Today, we’ll get to know Danielle Hester, Manager, Creative Services.

WHOSAY: What’s the first thing you do as soon as you arrive in the office?

Danielle Hester: First, I check work emails and then I watch a dance/hip-hop video to get me hyped for the day. My go-to right now is “Lemon” by N.E.R.D and Rihanna.

WS: What’s a typical day at WHOSAY like?

DH: Brainstorming and writing and budgeting…and watching Sam Jones do headstands.

WS: What is your role at WHOSAY?

DH: Creative Service Manager

WS: What’s your secret life hack and/or productive hack?

DH: Working out in the mornings. It’s a struggle to get to the gym at 6:30 am every day, but going makes me feel good. I’m more centered and productive throughout the day.

WS: What don’t most people know about you?

DH: I know how to sew. My mom taught me when I was in high school.

WS: Share your advice with aspiring young people who want to break into your industry

DH: In general, be open to learning and exploring new things happening in your industry. And find time to travel…a lot. It introduces you to different cultures and perspectives. That’s important when creating content that’s diverse and innovative.

WS: What is the best advice you have ever received?

DH: To paraphrase: If it doesn’t make you uncomfortable, you’re not being challenged.

WS: What are your favorite books or quotes?
