WHOSAY CMO Paul Kontonis is set to "drop the 'R'" at Social Media Week LA on Wednesday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. PST at The Broad Stage in Los Angeles, California.
"Marketers can get too focused on the influencer and lose sight of the overall campaign and marketing objectives," said Kontonis, who will be arguing that marketers need to move past the term “influencer marketing” by embracing the six phases of “influence marketing”: 1) objectives, 2) targeting, 3) casting, 4) creative, 5) distribution, and 6) measurement. "And in the end, influence marketing enables us to make better ads in a mobile world because we all know how bad ads currently are on mobile."
Kontonis will be joined by SoulPancake CEO Shabnam Mogharabi, Tastemade Co-Founder Joe Perez, BuzzFeed Motion Pictures Development Partner Ashly Perez, and Bitly CPO Matt Thomson among others, who will be addressing the event's global theme "Language and the Machine,"—which examines "how algorithms are shaping human language communication."
Actress, author, and TV host Kelly Osbourne will also be featured during the four-day event that includes more than one hundred main stage talks, interviews, panel sessions, and workshops. In addition, SMWLA will feature two stages, including a 500-person theater and a workshop stage that seats 100, co-working lounges, speaker AMA lounge, VR showcase, technology vendors, food trucks with complimentary lunch, and an opening party to kick-off the week’s activities.
WHOSAY is proud to be one of SMWLA’s Content Partners, along with 360i, BuzzFeed, Contently, Facebook, Forbes Media, and Live Nation among others.
