Kontonis made the remarks at Industry Index's Influencer Marketing Round Table, which was held April 26 in New York City. "Let’s not kid ourselves, we are making better ads, we are making better performing ads on mobile devices," he explained, adding that "when you look at it that way you realize it's becoming a bigger and bigger piece of the media budget."
Shade CEO Jacques Bastien, VaynerMedia Supervisor of Influencer Marketing Dontae Mears, HYPR SVP Jonathan Chanti, and Style Coalition Founder and CEO Yuli Ziv were among the roundtable participants who discussed the current state of the Influencer Marketing industry, including "the need for education through measurement."
The WHOSAY CMO has been making the rounds at industry events, including the 2017 WOMMA Summit at the Times Center in New York City where he delivered the closing keynote speech arguing, "influencers are good, influence is better."
