WHOSAY CEO Steve Ellis joined Hollywood Life's Emily Longeretta on Cheddar's Opening Bell on Friday morning to address the controversy surrounding the Kendall Jenner-starred Pepsi commercial that the company pulled after online backlash from critics who said the ad trivialized the Black Lives Matter movement.
"This is exactly the kind of work we do with talent, creative, and brands every day, all day," Ellis told hosts, Kristen Scholer and Jon Steinberg. He added that, given the velocity and collaborative nature of the type of influencer marketing campaigns WHOSAY specializes on, "if you do make a mistake, you hear about it directly from the customer"—potentially avoiding embarrassing backlashes like the one received by Pepsi.
