“Life is funny...” or at least that’s the way Tyler sees it. The Canadian born actor is the host of THE BACHELOR CANADA and is currently in production on the upcoming Weather Channel adventure series MASTERS OF NATURE. Harcott always seeks to find the levity in every situation and brings it to the fore. His unique style and energy have served him well in a career that now spans two decades.
After graduating from the Communication Arts program at SAIT Polytechnic, Tyler got his start in radio as a disc jockey at CKGY in Red Deer, Alberta playing both ‘country’ and ‘western’ music.
His hosting career began almost by accident, in Hong Kong (of all places) hosting 3 shows for STAR TV. He regretfully admits to only remembering enough Cantonese to say “thank you”, “good morning” and “take me to Queens Road West please.” Through his work in Asia Tyler got to indulge one of his great passions...travel. He had the pleasure of experiencing the wonders of South East Asia and the Middle East, hosting shows in such culture rich locales as India, Dubai and Indonesia to name a few.
Tyler then returned to his homeland to host, write and produce the nightly live entertainment show WIRED for
A-Channel Calgary.
He began his foray into the US market with the high stakes daredevil stunt show I DARE YOU! for UPN.
That humble beginning led to his landing the hosting role on the Emmy nominated series JUNKYARD WARS for
TLC
Eventually Tyler left the junkyard and relocated to New York City where he helmed his first design themed program, Style Network’s GUESS WHO’S COMING TO DECORATE? This was clearly not enough excitement for him as he simultaneously hosted the design competition vehicle THE COMPLEX MALIBU for FOX.
Continuing to try and strengthen his chops and broaden his hosting resume Tyler took on arguably the greatest challenge of his career... living on a cruise ship with 50 Miss America pageant contestants and hosting TLC’s Miss America: Countdown To The Crown.
Somehow he managed to survive.
Tyler is also the creative force behind 'tyler•made entertainment'. A boutique production company based in
New York City, developing programming for the ever evolving, multi-tier entertainment industry.
When he’s not working, or traveling, the experienced dog sledder canoeist and snowshoer continues to pursue his many other passions including playing hockey and practicing the same 3 notes on the guitar. He has recently taken up studying Spanish and soon hopes to order his first meal in a South American locale without insulting anyone’s mother.
