Tom Hiddleston is an English actor who is famous for his roles as Loki in Marvel Studios’ THOR and AVENGERS, as Captain Nicholls in Steven Spielberg’s 2011 film WAR HORSE, and F. Scott Fitzgerald in Woody Allen's MIDNIGHT IN PARIS.
Tom was educated at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and trained the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, gaining recognition for his roles in television movies and series such as THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF NICHOLAS NICKLEBY, CONSPIRACY, and MISS AUSTEN REGRETS. Tom has also starred in many theatre productions, including THE CHANGELING & CYMBELINE for Cheek By Jowl, and OTHELLO, IVANOC and CORIOLANUS for the Donmar Warehouse.
In 2012, Tom appeared as Prince Hal/Henry V in THE HOLLOW CROWN, a television adaptation of Shakespeare's HENRY IV, Parts I & II, and HENRY V.
Tom returned as Loki in THOR: THE DARK WORLD last October/early November 2013. Last year, he was also seen in a cameo role in Joanna Hogg’s, EXHIBITION.
In February, Tom starred opposite Tilda Swinton, John Hurt and Mia Wasikowska in Jim Jarmusch’s ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE. He was also heard in Disney’s TINKER BELL AND THE PIRATE FAIRY, alongside Christina Hendricks and was also seen in The Muppets sequel, MUPPETS MOST WANTED, as the character Great Escapo.
Tom has recently finished filming Guillermo del Toro’s Gothic thriller; CRIMSON PEAK, alongside Academy Award nominee; Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam. He is currently filming for the starring role in Ben Wheatley’s thriller HIGH RISE, alongside all-star cast Jeremy Irons, Luke Evans, Sienna Miller and Elisabeth Moss.
Tom has also been confirmed to play the country icon Hank Williams in the independent biopic, I SAW THE LIGHT. Directed by Marc Abraham, the film is based on Colin Escott, George Merritt and William MacEwen's 1994 book, Hank Williams: The Biography.
Tom is a High Profile Supporter of UNICEF since 2013, when he travelled to Guinea in West Africa. He was able to visit multiple UNICEF projects, learning about their work in child protection, water and sanitation, and hunger and malnutrition.
