- 15 January 2013 The Note2 Wow, what a difference a version makes. I moved two months ago from Note 1 to Note 2. Samsung's Note 2 is smoother and faster and better in every way. Hell, Note 1 was pretty tweaked to begin with. Both performance and operation get upgraded with the use of Jellybean and a faster processor. I was so curious with the possibilities built into the Note series device from the start. Powerful, useful and functional are three words I use to describe this to friends and curious people. Oh yea, and great battery life. Its size needs to be adjusted to, you have to just get used to it. This device makes a Droid Razr Maxx HD seem small and a Blackberry Bold seem like a lapel pin. You either must like it or leave it. Don't make first impressions your last, you will find it a trade-off between a pad and phone. The screen makes a perfect pad on the go with a phone in it. It does my calendar very well and I attach it to my Slingbox for video. With its own speaker its a good phone, it would be perfect if the flip cover adjusted to form a stand. And after some time it even is ok as a handheld against my ear. The funny, ironic commercial spot says it's the next 'big thing.' It certainly does many things very well and for art or design individuals the Note 2 does those things extremely well. And it has a pen so you can draw on your own face...

- 08 November 2012 The Droid Razr Maxx HD is a solid, great feeling, quality unit. It is real cool for its industrial build, feel and look. Great screen and outside of no removable battery, it has perfect connections and input ports. I am ok with the interface but would prefer to have it open to a user optioned selection of apps and extras. Sad Jellybean was not offered. The all day performance of this phone is a showstopper. For me it keeps this high performance phone ahead, just…of its competition. I get to use these test phones -I don't get paid- its just my geek man opinion and feel very grateful I can handle and mess with these devices and just offer up my opinion, but I have no dog in this race….

- 07 March 2012 Just got a new phone- Droid Razr Maxx. First impressions are solid. Construction is industrial in the best way. The chassis says quality and has the feel of something hefty and cool. The Verizon software bloat is uncomfortable but can be disguised. This is the land of the free- I really need to make my own decisions on what I want on my devices. What would they need to charge me to have the option to have a rooted version? That said this phone performs very well. The speed and function is what one expects from a high end Android phone and Gingerbread is stable, workable and useful software. They expect an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich (I get to feeling real silly typing these names). Display opinions will be dictated by ones preferences. The Google Nexus seems a bit brighter and more intense but not so one would really make use of that difference. However this Razr Maxx is a clear winner in the single most important aspect to me…duration. This standard battery is a game changer. All day heavy use and still full battery…yes. This will be the benchmark from now on…. good thinking Motorola… real nice unit here in my hand. @motorola #DroidRazrMaxx
