Ted Anthony Snapshot
Ted Anthony, assistant managing editor for The Associated Press, oversees the AP's global weekend report and also focuses on enterprise and writes frequently about American culture. He has reported from more than 20 countries and 47 U.S. states. He joined the AP in 1992 in Charleston, W.Va., and has been stationed in Philadelphia, New York, Beijing and Pittsburgh. After 9/11, Anthony spent extended periods reporting in Pakistan and Afghanistan. In 2003, he reopened AP's Iraq bureau and supervised wartime coverage there for two months. Most recently, he has helped lead AP’s social media experiments. Anthony, a graduate of Penn State University, is the author of the 2007 book, "Chasing the Rising Sun: The Journey of an American Song.” He is married to Melissa Rayworth-Anthony, a writer, actress and former AP person; they have two sons.
