Sea Shepherd support continues to grow. How can we lose after recruiting the support of some of the heavies from the Game of Thrones. Last year Lena Headey a.k.a. Queen Cersei Lannister was wearing a Sea Shepherd shirt in a movie and recently some of the characters from the show came by the Sea Shepherd Germany booth at RingCon in Germany.

From left to right we have Iain Glen as Jorah Mormont, Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo, Nalatia Tena as Osho, Miltos Yerolemou as Syrio Forel and Finn Jones as the Knight of Flowers.

Jorah Mormont and Miltos Yerolemou are experienced scuba divers and at 6’4” I’m damn sure Khal Drogo would more than intimidate a few whalers and as Syrio Forel said: “Fear cuts deeper than swords. Be calm as still water. The man who fears losing has already lost.”

We can smell the fear of the whalers in the way they have ignobly snuck out of port as they begin to creep south towards us and we are here to meet them. We can smell it in their desperation to use their money and power to charge me for “crimes” I never committed. We can smell their fear in their desperate attempt to sue Sea Shepherd in the U.S. Courts and their anger when they failed. We can smell their fear when they resort to accusations that it is racism that guides our anti-whaling activities when we oppose whalers of all nationalities. We can smell their fear when we see them resorting to looting the Tsunami Relief Fund for money to fight Sea Shepherd.

The whalers know they are losing. We are humiliating them by forcing them to retreat each year from the Southern Ocean with a fraction of their kills.

For nine years Sea Shepherd has battled the whalers and every year we have gotten stronger than the year before and every year the whalers have become weaker than the year before.

The whalers have already lost, the world abhors whaling and there is no place for it in the 21st Century. We now need to convince them to surrender and this year we intend to do just that.

Our message to the Japanese whalers is a simple one: “Winter is coming and you will pay your debts to the whales.”
