#LaterGram- Mile 8 of my #WeRunDC 1/2 #marathon is dedicated to #PowerLatina SURVIVORS!! Talk about providing me with #RunLizzaRun fuel, these #Latinas literally survived the odds and overcame some type of challenge life has thrown their way. Instead of slowing them down, it has pushed them to do more and be more! I ran with 4 different colored bracelets. Each representing a different #nonprofit doing it's part to support those affected by some type of disease or incident! It's part of my #pixiedust formula fueling me to the finish line!

#FunFact- The #cherryblossom represents the fragility and the beauty of life. It's a reminder that life is almost overwhelmingly beautiful but that it is also tragically short. So WE have to make it worth living, no matter what obstacles we encounter. Part of that includes giving back & never giving up!!

I've now run both of #nikewomenshalf marthons: this one in #DC & #WeRunSF! I'm proud to say all proceeds of these two races go to @LLSusa, to find a cure for #Leukemia & #Lymphoma! Shout out to all the #Latinas affected by this disease, who keep on fighting daily. Plain and simple, #CancerSucks! Shout out to my dear @jewelfigueras, the ultimate Chemo Sabe warrior! May your darkest days be behind you Amiga, the world needs your light! Shout out to the Latinas who are #BostonStrong!! Shout out @LupusLA for all you do to find a cure & support those suffering with Lupus! Shout out @runningforLupus for your dedication to raise awareness about #lupus with your #LHandSign campaign! Shout out Nancy Davis for all your tireless work you and your dedicated staff due with @racetoerasems to find better ways for those with #MS to live, until you find a cure! #DidYouKnow more than three times as many #women, than men, are affected by this disease? And shout out to all the Latinas who have survived #domesticabuse, #sexualabuse & #humantrafficking!! Though your wounds are often invisible to others, that doesn't lessen how deep it cuts. YOU are a symbol of strength! Shout out @yosoysegundo for being a safe haven & a voice for the cause! It is because of organizations like you that allows #women to not just survive but THRIVE! We are all in this together! Tag someone YOU know that has survived! #PowerLatinasRun
