J/P HRO's Education team opens the doors to Ecole de l'Espoir's new #computer lab to improve educational outcomes and empower #students.
"We are always thinking about their future and how best to prepare them to have the best opportunity to succeed in life and students need to obtain skills that would make them competitive in the job market while strengthening their academic abilities right now," says instructor, Josué Fidèle. "Here they learn basic skills like typing, creating Word documents and internet research.We also encourage students to work in groups to help build teamwork and collaboration. These skills will help their creativity grow in the classroom, but in the long run they can also be translated into real world application such as employment."
POTW: Students at J/P HRO's Ecole de l'Espoir receive instruction on electric keyboards on Wednesday, November 12. The music class is part of the ongoing Music Heals initiative through J/P HRO's Community Development Center. They are using the SUZUKI methodology as adapted by Little Kids Rock. The program will reach 60 school aged kids in the coming year.
Meet our employee of the month, Murielle Delice, who has started working with the organization on June 11th, 2011 as " Assistant to the Labor Management " within Engineering & Construction and has been promoted " Administrative Assistant. Murielle is the most quiet employee in J/P "a Hero behind the scene " who is handling all the administrative aspects of the E & C ongoing projects. Her contribution is very appreciated !

J/P HRO continues to help those displaced by the 2010 earthquake transition into permanent housing. Early in the morning of October 16th, J/P HRO started operations in two new camps with a census of the residents.
