Meet our Team: Lora Vicariot
A native of Brittany, France, Lora joined J/P HRO as a Neighborhood Upgrading Project Manager in February 2013. She is working to build innovative housing strategies to assist families transition back to secure and sustainable homes. She is currently spearheading a co-property project of 45 multistory housing units to provide a model solution to urban density in the Delmas community. "You don’t engage in such a project unprepared. First you choose an area based on technical criteria (no potential landslide or flooding) and global urban plan, but above all, we get the community involved so they become part of all our projects," she explains. She continues to pave the way with the Engineering & Construction team to build durable solutions to bring Haiti back home.
POTW: Students at J/P HRO's Ecole de l'Espoir receive instruction on electric keyboards on Wednesday, November 12. The music class is part of the ongoing Music Heals initiative through J/P HRO's Community Development Center. They are using the SUZUKI methodology as adapted by Little Kids Rock. The program will reach 60 school aged kids in the coming year.
Meet our employee of the month, Murielle Delice, who has started working with the organization on June 11th, 2011 as " Assistant to the Labor Management " within Engineering & Construction and has been promoted " Administrative Assistant. Murielle is the most quiet employee in J/P "a Hero behind the scene " who is handling all the administrative aspects of the E & C ongoing projects. Her contribution is very appreciated !

The Tabasamu Tooth Tour did a 3-day visit last week where they visited 12 schools in Delmas 32, trained 1400 students and teachers, and 70 community agents
J/P HRO continues to help those displaced by the 2010 earthquake transition into permanent housing. Early in the morning of October 16th, J/P HRO started operations in two new camps with a census of the residents.
Today, October 15th is the Global Handwashing Day! We, at J/P HRO, celebrated throughout our various programs, spreading awareness about the importance of keeping your hands clean and hygienic.
