"Everyone keeps 'dissing my old bedsheet LOL. Mhm....but here goes a "MODELING 101" tip for the aspiring 'pose-anista'..."
BEACH SHOOTS: Sand, sweat-inducing direct sun, (sometimes) nowhere to change, gusts of wind, sea water mist, flying birds = recipe for a hot mess of hair and makeup.
A good model is always prepared - professional! Something I have done since the beginning of time: If you keep an old queen or king sized fitted bed-sheet to roll up to bring with you to any and all beach/outdoors shoots - you can carry it right from the location set-up to your 'mark' and toss it to the art dir or stylist when the photographer is ready to start shooting!! If there is no "tent" or shade - it can become a non-sponge like lightweight cover you change under (regular towel will soak up 'body glossers', smudge makeup), it will help block your face from the sun - no 'sweaty' makeup face and creased eyes from squinting, it can help protect your style from the wind and your makeup from sea mist. Your makeup artist will thank you OTHER THINGS YOU CAN PACK: water bottle, hair elastic, mini hand fan and the obvi - flip flops are a MUST). AM x
