Actor, writer, director, lyricist

Rupert Friend trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He was named Outstanding New Talent at the 2005 Satellite Awards™ and was also nominated Best Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards. He has since been nominated for a SAG award with the cast of Homeland, and for a Primetime Emmy for his role as Peter Quinn in the same show.

Hi short 'Steve', starring Colin Firth and Keira Knightley, which he wrote and directed, won him the Crystal Vision Award at the Rhode Island Flicker Film Festival, and was accepted into more than 20 international Film Festivals.

He has written lyrics on the albums 'Everything We Hold' and "Statement of Intent' for the MOBO-award winning group Kairos 4tet, for whom he also directed a music video.

Rupert Friend first came to the public's attention as Mr. Wickham in the 2005 adaptation of PRIDE & PREJUDICE opposite Keira Knightley and directed by Joe Wright. He also appeared with Johnny Depp in THE LIBERTINE. Other film credits include OUTLAW directed by Nick Love; THE MOON AND THE STARS with Jonathan Pryce and Alfred Molina, directed by John Irvin; THE LAST LEGION with Ben Kingsley and Colin Firth, directed by Doug Lefler; MRS. PALFREY AT THE CLAREMONT opposite Joan Plowright and David Leland's VIRGIN TERRITORY.

In 2008, Rupert appeared in Dan Ireland's JOLENE and Mark Herman's THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS. In 2009, he starred opposite Emily Blunt in THE YOUNG VICTORIA directed by Jean-Marc Vallée, and later that year opposite Michelle Pfeiffer in Stephen Frears' CHÉRI. His other credits include LULLABY WITH PI with Clémence Poésy, directed by Benoît Philippon and produced by Christine Vachon of Killer Films; THE KID starring Natascha McElhone, Ioan Gruffudd and directed by Nick Moran; and 5 DAYS OF WAR directed by Renny Harlin. He will soon be seen in STARRED UP, directed by David Mackenzie, and MEET ME IN MONTENEGRO, directed by Alex Holdridge.

He currently starring in HOMELAND opposite Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin and Damien Lewis.
