Peter Shinkoda Snapshot
Born and raised in Montréal, actor Peter Shinkoda grew up fascinated with feature films. Idolizing the likes of 'James Bond' and 'Indiana Jones,' he was determined to become a part of the very industry that he looked up to.

Shinkoda currently stars on TNT's hit series "Falling Skies," from executive producer Steven Spielberg and Dreamworks Television. The show centers on a group of civilians and soldiers struggling against an alien force that has invaded earth. Shinkoda stars as 'Dai,' a competent, yet quiet commando on the battlefield and second-in-command to the group's leader 'Tom,' played by Noah Wylie. "Falling Skies" will return for its second season on June 17th at 9pm PT/ET on TNT.

In addition, he stars in the upcoming Warner Bros. produced live-action web series "Mortal Kombat." Shot in Vancouver under director Kevin Tancharoen ("Mortal Kombat: Rebirth,”) the series will delve deep into the history of the warriors in this world-renowned franchise.

Also in the can is a role in the 3D horror feature "The Hole," directed by Joe Dante (“The 'Burbs,” "Gremlins," "Twilight Zone: The Movie"). The film revolves around a pair of brothers who stumble upon a mysterious hole in their basement that leads to the darkest corridors of their fears and nightmares.

Shinkoda's vast television credits include Showtime's "The L Word," ABC's horror series "Kingdom Hospital" from Stephen King," Warner Bros. Television's "Supernatural," SyFy's "Sanctuary," and James Cameron's "Dark Angel."

For the big screen, Shinkoda had the chance to work alongside Jet Li and Jason Statham in the action feature "War." Other film credits include the sci-fi mystery "I, Robot" opposite Will Smith and Bridget Moynahan and John Woo's "Paycheck" with Ben Affleck, Aaron Eckhart and Uma Thurman.
