Sea Shepherd bought the ship in Japan and had the whalers deliver the vessel to Cairns. Only five people in Sea Shepherd knew of the purchase and the Japanese had absolutely no idea they were selling the vessel to Sea Shepherd and delivering the vessel directly to our doorsteps. This is an ice strengthened vessel with the speed to enable us to chase down and block the Nisshin Maru. This year we will have fours ships, a helicopter, two drones, eight small boats, three jet skies and 120 crew for Operation Zero Tolerance.
