Nathan Fillion is a Canadian actor who plays the title role in ABC’s crime drama “Castle.” He has a cult following for his roles in Joss Whedon's "Firefly" and "Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog," alongside Neil Patrick Harris.
His first prominent role was as Joey Buchanan on “One Life to Live,” for which he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 1996. He was then cast in supporting roles on the sitcom "Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and "Saving Private Ryan.”
Since 2009, he has held the starring role in “Castle,” for which he has received multiple People’s Choice Awards and TV Guide awards, among others. He recently appeared in Joss Whedon’s "Much Ado About Nothing."
In 2007, he cofounded a nonprofit organization called Kids Need to Read, which provides books to underfunded school libraries around the country.
