Mickael Carreira first stepped on stage in 2001. At the early age of 15 he sang at the Olympia, legendary concert hall in Paris, where he was part of a duet with his father, in front of an audience of thousands. The first step into a meteoric career was taken, this was quickly followed by sold out performances, record sales, platinum awards and a battalion of fans.
Mickael released his first album ‘MICKAEL’ in July 2006, which sales quickly made it reach triple platinum. In that same year Mickael has his first solo debut, in Lisbon at Pavilhão Atlântico, in front of a crowd of over 20.000.
The romantic ballads and latin rhythms, emphasized by a strong complicity with his audience, which knows the lyrics by heart and mimics his moves, do not go unnoticed.
Only two months passed when he wins the Globo de Ouro award for Revelation Artist in Music, and his concert at Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon has a cheering and enthusiastic crowd. Still in 2007 his 2nd album is released ‘ENTRE NÓS’ and again makes platinum. In just 18 months of touring Mickael adds over 100 concerts to his résumé.
The 3rd album, all original work, is released in 2009. In ‘TUDO o QUE EU SONHEI’ Mickael experiments with new sounds and innovating beats achieving platinum once more. Mickael invites the Asian star Anggun for a duet in ‘CALL MY NAME’ which is sung, in February 2010, at the unforgettable concert that took place in the most emblematic concert hall in Portugal, the Coliseu dos Recreios. The show sold out after several months of planning and preparation for an amazing performance that led fans in ecstasy. A night recorded in Mickael’s first live CD and DVD. The beginning of the 2011 tour in Oporto’s Coliseum is promising and Mickael starts to prepare the 4th album of unpublished songs in Miami. ‘VIVER A VIDA’ is the outcome of numerous months of dedication by the artist along with two of the world’s best music producers, Rudy Perez and Julio Reyes Copello, who have worked together with international music stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Pitbull, Ricky Martin Marc Anthony and Nelly Furtado.
