Michael Rimmer is a two time Olympian specializing in the 800m. He won the British 800m title for five consecutive years between 2006 and 2010 and has a personal best time of 1:43.89 which he ran in Rieti in 2010. Earlier that year he won his first major medal with a silver in the final of the European T&F Championships in Barcelona.

Born in Southport near Liverpool, Rimmer has been a successful athlete through all of the age groups and former great, Peter Elliott, tipped him for success at an early age. He was a finalist in the 2006 European T&F Championships; and a semi-finalist in the 2007 IAAF World T&F Championships, 2008 Olympic Games and 2009 IAAF World T&F Championships.

Rimmer is noticeable by his trademark white t-shirt which he wears underneath his vest no matter what kind of weather, which he says brings him good luck. Michael is a keen Liverpool FC supporter and attends Liverpool John Moores University where he is studying history. One of his hobbies was collecting vinyl records which began when he was working as a DJ.
