June 24, 2011I think we had a real good batch of captions for this drawing. I have to say, I laughed at quite a few of them. In picking a winner, it’s hard to ignore the people’s vote this week. There was a high level of “likes” for Charlie Eldred’s “It's like politics, Marcy: what looks appealing now will make me regret my choice later.” You probably liked that if you’re interested in politics. I’m not much. “Sorry, Charlie!” That leaves us with Jeffrey Greenspan’s "Is being called a GMILF a good thing?" I wouldn’t normally reward such gutter thinking but you folks seem to like it. I wish it referenced the drawing a little more, but maybe the out-of-the-blue surprise element gives it more impact and besides, it’s succinct and punchy. So JEFF WINS! Special mention to Barry L. Edwards and Ed Tucciarone who had a couple of unique takes on it. To Michael Martin and Drew Fairweather for being so unfunny that I laughed. And to Andy Dyer, Jonathan Elkin and Craig J. Wallen for keeping it classy. A Couple of people broke the third wall, or is it the fourth wall? I don’t know. Chris Stuart and Kathy Mynahan Davies, who seems to have been the first to notice that the table is, like a 32 year old poet, unable to support itself. Yuckity yuk yuk. Thanks for playing.
