  • 22 June 2011 This week's caption contest. It looks to me like this one might be tougher than the last one. There isn't as much going on in the picture, but then maybe that's better because there's more places to go with it. I don't know for sure. I guess we'll see. Write your caption below and I'll choose my favorite on Friday at noon. Winner gets the original drawing with their caption written in.
  • 01 July 2011 Some good captions this week. Chad Darbyshire is obviously not down with the whole “Brevity Thing.” Pretty funny. Some others got a little too dirty for my taste. Smart, subtle naughtiness is always good for a laugh, (Desdemona Finch and Angelo Giouzepis did it well) but there is a line and Jeromy Barber crossed it on roller skates. And you might say, “Hey, he got a lot of likes,” but I know Jeromy. He could post a picture of poop on a plate and get forty “likes.” He probably has. So I am not swayed. And yes, as moderator, I have hidden his offending comment from everyone who isn’t his friend. If you want to see that kind of smut, friend him, but be warned, he’s a terrible, terrible friend… always asking to borrow your nice china plates. We had some milder and note-worthy captions this week from Matt Percival, Jason Overby, Jack Burgess, Jason Schlichting, and especially Clif Dickens who made an admirably simple broken hip joke that almost took the prize. But the Winner this week is NATHAN WOODWARD who wrote: "Marcy, I said I want out! I'm finished with all of that, everything. I want my LIFE back! Please don't contact me ever agai- wait is it CARROT cake?" Thanks for playing, everyone.

  • 16 July 2011 Here's the caption I originally had for this week's drawing. Have to say, I think some of the ones that came in for the contest may have beat me out this time. Also have to say, I'm not crazy about this drawing. I was in a rush. I'm just glad it won't be on the internet forever. Whew.
