Discovered by two modelling scouts in Sydney, Manal Matar never imagined herself in front of the camera. Now she’s a sought after and versatile print, video and runway model whose baby face and exotic looks have drawn attention from photographers around the world. She’s walked the catwalk at fashion shows, for clothing designers, added her talent to video shoots, and appeared in magazine look books and catalogs.
Of Lebanese descent, Manal is a Sydney girl with an international background. As the oldest of five and only girl, Manal has always been the favorite in her close-knit family. “My parents were always there for me, and I had the greatest childhood any child would wish to have. My mother is my biggest influence and my inspiration in life. I learned to be a strong person and fighter from her,” she says.
Manal won an online contest to become the Face of Show Pony Fashion (2012) and the Face of Raw Fashion Agency (2012). She’s also the Face of Sawsuna Lingerie and others.
Known for her kind heart and shining smile, Manal stays fit by belly dancing. She’s also interested in music and singing, and is the busy owner of her own business. She takes each modelling experience as a challenge to make the most of every opportunity.
“I want to tell the world there’s more than meets the eye to girly girls like me. There was a time I thought maybe someday I could work in the fashion industry. But never could I imagine myself in front of the camera,” she says.
Her goals as a model are to have her face become recognized worldwide, to act as an inspiration for others, to bring joy to people and fans, to encourage others to embrace their inner beauty, and to express her gifts by showcasing talented fashion designers.
