Lindsay Ellingson

The quintessential California girl, Lindsay Ellingson, was born the middle of three daughters in a close-knit family not far from Palm Springs. Her lifelong love of math and science led her to the University of California at San Diego, where she had planned to study biology. However, shortly after her arrival, fate intervened when a scount suggested she try modeling and head to Paris where her first appointment was with legendary designer John Galliano, who promptly cast the 5’10” beauty in her first-ever modeling job: the opening slot of his Christian Dior show.
Since that fortutious moment, Lindsay’s career has been on a trajectory she could have never imagined. While fashion labels as varied as Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Givenchy and Victor and Rolf, to Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Michael Kors, Lanvin, Karl Lagerfeld, and Salvatore Ferragamo loyally cast Lindsay as a muse for runway shows in New York, Paris and Milan, her ethereal beauty has graced campaigns for D&G, Dolce and Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger, and has peered back from editorials in the American, British, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and German editions of Vogue, as well as Allure, Visionaire, Numero, French and Mixte magazines and graced the covers of Spanish, Russian and LatinAmerica editions of Vogue.
A long time fan of fellow California natives, Tyra Banks and Stephanie Seymour, Lindsay has followed in their footsteps, first with an appearance on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show runway in 2007 and then four years later being tapped as one of the brand’s aptly titled “Angels”.
Despite her hectic modeling schedule, Lindsay likes to stay busy by supporting various environmental causes and animal charities. It was her love of animals, that led to the creation of Goldie Knots, a small collection of handmade bracelets that are sold in several boutiques in Lindsay’s adopted hometown of New York City, with proceeds benefitting the ASPCA. A former dancer, Lindsay recently returned to studying the discipline---particularly hip-hop---which she credits with keeping her fit. And while dance may keep her in shape, it’s her closeness to family and longtime friends that helps keep the rising superstar grounded.
