Larry Abreu

Drummer Larry Abreu has been training as a musician since childhood. At the age of 8 he began playing at a Spanish church where his family attended – place where he began to developed his basic drum skills. In his teenage years, Larry recalls being highly influenced by two great drummers that were part of his congregation, who motivated him to further study the instrument and develop his craft. As a result, Larry began training to read music, practiced with home videos, music tracks, and attended live performances to extend his contact and gain experience. This led to growing hunger and determination to serve as inspiration for other musicians like him.

Since then, Larry has been, fortunate to share the stage with bands such as Doubledge, Skillet, Toby Mac, RED, Pillar, P.O.D., The Letter Black, Hawk Nelson, Relient K, Decyfer Down, and has also performed at the world renowned Hard Rock Café, NYC. He has also been invited to play at Television stations like Telemundo, ABC, and Fox to name a few.

Besides his great passion for music, Larry is a down to earth but assertive and goal oriented young man. He is a New Yorker who enjoys the city life in company of his close friends. Apart from studying music, he believes a musician needs to study scripture and seek the face of God in order to be effective. His friends and band members know him for being responsible, motivated, and funny.

Currently, as a member of the JDJ Band, Larry looks forward to reaching other venues across the United States and internationally. By allowing himself to be moved by his fervor and faith, he hopes to produce a strong and memorable impression in everyone he meets whether it is through music, or interactions.
