Kelly Clarkson is a singer and songwriter who is the winner of the first season of “American Idol.”
Kelly was a talented musician from a young age, taking part in many school theatre productions and talent shows.
In 2001, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her music career and appeared as an extra in television shows like "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" and "Dharma & Greg." It wasn't until 2002 that Kelly gained nationwide recognition as the winner of the first season of American Idol. Soon after she was signed with multiple recording agencies and has been producing chart-topping pop hits ever since.
Some of her biggest hits include "Miss Independent" in 2003, "Breakaway" and "Since U Been Gone" in 2004, "Because of You" in 2005, and "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)” in 2012. In total, Kelly has been nominated for 129 music awards and has won 61, including the American Music Award for Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist in 2005, two Grammys for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 2006, and an Academy of Country Music Award for Single of the Year for "Don't You Wanna Stay" with Jason Aldean in 2012.
