Katlin Mastandrea Snapshot
Katlin Mastrandea was destined to be a comedian. Born in Englewood, Colorado, Katlin was raised in nearby Littleton. At only age two, when asked what she liked to do, Katlin replied: “Make people laugh.” At age ten, she received a mailing from the National American Miss Pageant, and took the opportunity as an avenue to start getting into acting.

After performing in three pageants, one of the judges gave Katlin’s mom a business card, telling her that Katlin needed to be in TV and film. Within the year, Katlin enrolled in an acting school in Denver and soon found herself participating at International Talent and Modeling Association (IMTA) in New York. Even though the outcome was not what she expected, Katlin was still determined to pursue her dream.

In 2007, Katlin came to Los Angeles with her younger brother for a showcase, which led to her booking an agent right away. She continued to audition for roles and even booked a national commercial, but after reevaluating her options, she decided to go back home to Colorado. Two years later Katlin returned to LA for a weeklong workshop with Casting Director Scott David, where she caught his eye. He brought her to an audition for Criminal Minds, and though she didn't book it the first time, she was cast a few months later in Matthew Gray Gubler’s directorial debut episode “Mosely Lane.”

After landing the guest-starring role on Criminal Minds, Katlin was taken on by a new talent agency and moved to Los Angeles full-time. Around that time, Katlin was also cast as the lead in the Chapman Thesis Short Film Make Believer. In 2011, she was recognized for her work on both projects with two Young Artist Awards. Even though the road to success has not been easy for Katlin, she continues to make her mark and showcase her talent with every role she plays.

Katlin returned to the small screen in 2011 when she booked the part of “Ashley” (Weird Ashley) in ABC’s hit comedy, The Middle. At first, she was only slated to appear as a guest star, but landed a recurring role for season 3. Katlin is most widely recognized for this popular role. Things aren’t slowing down for this up-and-coming actress. She was recently tapped for another recurring role as “Olivia” on the much-anticipated Charlie Sheen show Anger Management which will be premiering June 28th on FX.

When she is not acting, Katlin focuses on expanding her knowledge of the entertainment industry. She is currently enrolled at L.A. Valley College to obtain a directing certificate, with plans to continue her education at Chapman in the future. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets. She a big fan of musical theatre, is a book lover, and an artist--she plays guitar, draws, and writes in her free time. But most of all, Katlin loves to make people laugh, and finds herself doing it constantly both on and off the screen.
