Kate Bosworth is an actress, model, and singer who is best known for her roles in films such as "Blue Crush," "Beyond the Sea," and "21."
Kate was born in Los Angeles, California, but was raised on both the east and west coasts. By the age of fourteen, she had become a champion equestrian, and was interested in pursuing a professional career in horse racing. Kate's first film role was as Judith in the 1998 film "The Horse Whisperer," for which she was chosen in part due to her experience with horses. In 2000, she starred as Bella Banks in "Young Americans" and in the football drama "Remember the Titans." Her first major role was in the 2002 film "Blue Crush," which propelled Kate to stardom. She was subsequently cast in independent films like "The Rules of Attraction" in 2002 and "Wonderland" 2003. Her next lead role was as Rosalee Futch in the 2004 film "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!" The same year, she starred as actress Sandra Dee in Kevin Spacey's film "Beyond the Sea." In 2006, Kate earned the role of reporter Lois Lane in Bryan Singer's "Superman Returns.”
In addition to acting, Kate has been a successful model for both Calvin Klein and Coach, and has co-designed a jewelry line, JewelMint, which was launched in October 2010.
Kate currently lives in Southern California and is engaged to director Michael Polish.
