Karla Martinez

Karla Martínez is the perfect combination of beauty, talent, charisma and spontaneity; fundamental factors that landed her a spot as co-­‐host of Univision’s (nation’s highest rated Spanish language TV network) morning show “Despierta America” where she now has a cooking segment once a week.
Martinez started off in Univision as the host of the successful music show “Control” and a reporter for “Primer Impacto,” (Univision’s #1 news show). She has hosted special events for the network such as the red carpet for “Premios Juventud,” the special tribute to the late Tejano singer Selena “Selena Noche de Estrellas,” among many others. She was also the youngest person to host “Festival Calle 8,” the most popular festival in Miami where over a million people gather every year.
In 2008, she published her first book with Random House titled “The Power of a Smile,” which has been very successful. She is the current spokesperson for General Mills and Colgate for the U.S. Hispanic market, prior Karla was the young face of Pepsi for several years. She has also been named one of People En Español magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful on several occasions.
Karla resides in Miami with her husband and daughters.
