Jon Huertas currently stars in ABC’s Castle as ‘Detective Javier Esposito,’ the skeptical yet humorous Lead Detective whose constant banter with his partner is a plot highlight for fans. Jon’s an actor and performer whose career has spanned television, film and music for more than a decade. From the outspoken and gritty ‘Sgt. Antonio “Poke” Espera’ in HBO's highly acclaimed miniseries Generation Kill to voicing ‘Alberto’ in the feature film, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2, as well as being one of many celebrity voices in the popular HALO video game franchise for Microsoft’s HALO Reach for Xbox 360.

Huertas made his mark on feature films with roles in such projects as Picking Up the Pieces with Woody Allen & Sharon Stone, Why Do Fools Fall in Love alongside Halle Berry & Lorenz Tate and the Sundance Award-winning indie Right at Your Door. He then went on to co-produce and star in The Insatiable opposite Sean Patrick Flanery and Michael Biehn. Other notable feature film credits include: The Objective, Believers, Bug and Executive Decision to name a few. Additionally, Huertas is no stranger to the small screen having completed featured roles on a number of hit television series such as: NCIS, CSI, Prison Break, Cold Case, Dark Blue, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Without a Trace.

Huertas has recently started making a transition to also work behind the scenes by Producing and Directing films, Music Videos and other web based media. One of his first ventures as a producer was “THE INSATIABLE” with Sean Patrick Flanery & Michael Biehn which was distributed through THINKFilm and since he’s built an impressive little catalog of projects to include Dierecting the Music Video “Waste Of Your Time” in which he’s also one of the artists.

An East Coast native who was trained in Musical Theatre at TCU, Huertas is a Military veteran who served for eight years, before transitioning to professional actor. Huertas has built an impressive resume, which exemplifies his wide array of talents, artistic range, patriotism and philanthropy. Huertas also serves as a member on the board of the non-profit organization Puppies Behind Bars (www.puppiesbehindbars.com), where prison inmates train service dogs to benefit wounded veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, TBI and Physical injury. His charitable work extends into acting as well, currently holding the position of SAG-AFTRA Hollywood Division Board Member and acting as Chairman of the SAG-AFTRA Armed Forces Support Task Force.
