As a child, Biel began performing in musical theatre in her hometown of Boulder, Colorado. She competed in in The International Modeling and Talent Association’s Annual Conference in 1994, and in 1996, joined the cast of “7th Heaven.” Making her network television debut, Biel played the role of Mary Camden on the WB’s highly rated show for six years.
In her feature film debut at age fourteen, Biel garnered acclaim for her portrayal as the rebellious daughter in Victor Nunez’s acclaimed film ULEE’S GOLD, starring Oscar nominee Peter Fonda. Since then, Biel has starred in numerous films, such as NEW YEAR’S EVE, THE A-TEAM, VALENTINE’S DAY, EASY VIRTUE, I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK AND LARRY, THE ILLUSIONIST, STEALTH, ELIZABETHTOWN, BLADE: TRINITY, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, THE RULES OF ATTRACTION, SUMMER CATCH, and I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS.
For her work in THE ILLUSIONIST, Biel received numerous awards including Hollywood Life’s Annual “Breakthrough Award”, the “Shining Star Award” at both the Giffoni Film Festival and the Maui Film Festival, as well as the “Breakthrough Performance Award” at the 18th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival.
Most recently Biel signed on to Fox Searchlight’s HITCHCOCK alongside Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, James D’Arcy, and Toni Collette directed by Sacha Gervasi.
Biel will be seen next in Len Weisman’s version of TOTAL RECALL along with Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Bryan Cranston. The film will be released on August 3, 2012.
Biel is involved in such charities as Colorado Animal Sanctuary, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and Charity: Water. In January of 2012, she hosted Charity: Water’s Annual Water Ball in New York. In 2008 She was honored with the “National Impact Award” at the Heart of Los Angeles Gala. An avid snowboarder, Biel divides her time between the mountains of Montana and Los Angeles.
