Ice-T is an rapper and actor who is best known for his role as NYPD Detective Odafin Tutuola on NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."

Ice-T recorded his first single, "Cold Wind Madness," with William Strong in 1982. Though his music soon became an underground success, it was not initially well-known by the general population. It wasn't until 1987 when Ice-T signed a label deal with Sire Records and released his debut album "Rhyme Pays" that he began his climb to international stardom. He went on to release multiple solo and collaboration albums, including "O.G. Original Gangster" in 1991, "The Seventh Deadly Sin," "Gangsta Rap," and "Urban Legends," a joint album with the heavy metal band he co-founded, "Body Count." Ice-T made appearances in films throughout the ‘80s and ‘90s, most notably "New Jack City" in 1991, appearing alongside Denzel Washington and John Lithgow. In addition to his own reality show, "Ice-T's Rap School," he has earned critical acclaim for his role in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," which began in 2000.

Ice-T married swimsuit model Nicole "Coco" Austin in 2001. The two live together in Austin, Texas.
