  • 13 September 2012 A great evening celebrating the birthday of superstar @ChefToddEnglish at his awesome restaurant #Olives inside the #WHotelUnionSquare with #ROMALABANDA bringing the house down and @DJSinatra, too.
  • 22 September 2012 And as the red lights turned on the crowd gathered en masse. Was an exceptional opening for #LoveAndPaint creator #AlexanderEsquerra @ Orchard Windows Gallery on the Lower East Side, September 20, 2012. Honored to have curated UNIVERSAL TRUTH for such an ambitious young artist whose vision revealed itself in a tongue (and cheek or two) understood by all: love. Many thanks to photographers Alannah Farrell and Shawn Hayes who took these photos.
  • 28 June 2012 After seeing a great show of paintings at #HauserandWirth by artist #CaroNiederer, artist #BerndNaber, writer & cartoonist #AnthonyHadenGuest and I, #delahaba1, strolled up Madison and began crashing one party after the next, starting with the one at Juicy Couture. Our accomplices were many including the awesome 'fire-walker' #AgniZotis and painter of Tunisian cats #FedeleSpadafora.
  • 01 February 2013 How cool to walk into a Gagosian space and see paintings of Marie-Therese Walter by her Scorpio lover or to feel small beside a Richard Serra wall of steel that not only towers over one's head but gives the illusion that it'll be falling and crushing you, too, at any moment. But we expect greatness from great artists and mega dealers and hunger for those shows that leave us speechless and excited and glad to reside here, in one helluva town! But what really makes living here great is in the unexpected. Who'll we meet tonight in Chelsea or down on the Lower East Side? What opportunities will present themselves simply from walking down Fifth Avenue or hanging out in the cafe at P.S. 1? What's the next show that will flaw and excite? Get the wheels turning in high gear and leaves one feeling completely satisfied the way a good meal of meat from Peter Luger's leaves one satisfied? I'll tell you what: BLOW BY BLOW by artist Judi Rosen who challenges the usual expectations of objectified female sexuality by creating a sexual tableau of women and the clowns they love. It's brilliant! Run to see this show at Fuse Gallery in the East Village. A professional pattern maker by trade Judi ran her own East Village boutique The Good The Bad and The Ugly from 2000-2009 and where the likes of Mary J. Blige, Tara Banks and Alicia Keys sought out her eponymous jean line and fine tailored clothes. She traveled the world as an assistant to artist Henry James and currently assists artist Joe Bradley. Not too shabby. This is her first New York solo show and one that I guarantee will have you feeling all giggly inside and out and glad to call New York home. GdlH
  • 01 May 2012 TONIGHTS THE NIGHT, COME CELEBRATE TONIGHT....... ***NEW WORK*** by Cowboy Ray Kelly @ #OrchardWindowsGallery, 37 Orchard street on the Lower East Side. A true American original who colonized the LES when the buildings were vacant, the heroin rampant and the art scene unheard (I like that, art scene unheard, sounds like a title for a curatorial project?) Anyways, come celebrate a man, an artist, sculptor, and yes, cowboy, who dedicated his life bending to no one but the re-bar. See you there!
