Gene Simmons is a musician who is the bass guitarist and co-lead vocalist for the rock band Kiss.
Gene joined his first band as a teenager, and went on to form the band “The Long Island Sounds” while still working odd jobs to support himself. During his studies at Sullivan County Community College in New York, he joined the band Bullfrog Bheer and recorded a demo, "Leeta." Gene teamed with Paul Stanley in the early ‘70s and recorded an album that was never released. They went on to join with Peter Criss and Ace Frehley, forming the legendary rock band, Kiss. Kiss rose to fame during the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, releasing over 20 albums in total and earning a spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Gene has guest starred in multiple film and television roles, including a reality show focusing on his family, entitled "Gene Simmons Family Jewels." Gene has written books about his experiences with Kiss, including "Kiss and Make-Up" and "Kiss: Behind the Mask."
Gene currently lives in Beverly Hills, California, with his longtime significant other, Shannon Tweed. They have two children together: Nick and Sophie.
