Gena took the world by storm when BAYWATCH cast her as the conniving “Neely,” going from the ‘girl next door’ to the ‘girl seen around the world.’ Nolin recently joined a host of other BAYWATCH alumni when she stepped back into the trademark red BAYWATCH swimsuit in the latest incarnation of the hugely successful franchise, FOX’s BAYWATCH HAWAIIAN WEDDING.
A native of Duluth, Minnesota, Nolin’s family moved to Colorado and then on to Las Vegas where she finished high school. At the recommendation of friends, she entered and won the Miss Las Vegas contest. She quickly gained the attention of several modeling agencies, winning the Ford and Elite's “Look of the Year” contest and the Miss Barbizon USA national title.
After moving to Los Angeles to attend college, Nolin answered an ad in the paper for the PRICE IS RIGHT and beat out thousands of others to win a spot as one of the game show’s Showcase Models. That same year, Nolin appeared on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL and hosted a USA Network Special “The 50th Anniversary Of The Bikini.” Gena’s other TV credits include hosting VH-1’s top music videos, several segments for EXTRA, and two seasons in the title role of SHEENA -- the syndicated action/adventure series based on the 1940’s comic book, SHEENA: QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE. Frequent guest appearances on HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, hosted for E! Entertainment Television and the LIFETIME Network. She has appeared on OPRAH and was recently asked to be apart of the DANCING WITH THE STARS cast.
Gena has also appeared on national commercials for Coors, Home Depot, Star Burst and Hyundai, and has been a spokesperson for Sassoon Jeans, Clothestime, Maui & Sons, Levi’s and Swatch. Nolin has also lent her image to the PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) media campaign against the use of exotic skins. Gena was one of the only cast members of BAYWATCH to be a guest of The TONIGHT SHOW with JAY LENO over 7 times along with doing sideline reporting for JAY. She has also appeared many times on LATE NIGHT with DAVID LETTERMAN amongst many others.
Gena has given her time and efforts to many charities around the globe. She has worked for several years with the MAKE A WISH foundation, visiting hospitals, hospices and homes around the United States. “Working with MAKE A WISH has been so inspirational, it’s truly a gift to be able to help others”.
Gena recently traveled to KOSOVO to visit the troops. She and many other celebrities stayed on the Army base to help entertain and put smiles on the faces of our soldiers.
She was also thrilled to be given the “2007 HONORARY WOMAN OF DISTINCTION” award by the CROHN’S & COLITIS foundation last April. Gena continues to give of her time and likeliness to many different charities.
Currently, her husband Cale will be joining the 3rd season of Canada’s CBC show, “Battle of the Blades.”
