Elisa is best known and loved for playing the role of Amber in the Paramount Pictures feature film and subsequent television series,"Clueless". She then went on to create the role of Morgan Cavanaugh on the popular ABC and WB television series "Sabrina The Teenage Witch". She has had recurring roles on Beverly Hills 90210, Judging Amy and Jack & Jill. Among many film roles, she was most notably featured alongside Will Ferrell in the comedy feature film "A Night At The Roxbury".
Elisa has recently starred in many telefilms for Hallmark and Lifetime, including "A Valentine’s Date" (with Fred Willard, John Scheider, Brad Rowe and Emmy winner Tom Skerritt) , "12 Wishes" and "Eve’s Christmas". She co-starred in the film "A Golden Christmas" with Andrea Roth, Nicholas Brendon, Bruce Davison and Alley Mills. Other favorite films include "Your Love Never Fails", "Spooky Buddies", and "MoniKa" (set for release in 2014).
For three seasons Elisa starred as Gayle in the NBC Universal Digital comedy series "In Gayle We Trust". In Gayle We Trust was an unprecedented success for the studio, garnering over 24MM views.
Currently, Elisa stars opposite Gary Valentine in the franchise of family comedy movies "The Dog Who Saved Christmas". The movies also star Dean Cain and Mindy Sterling. They begin shooting the fifth installment this fall (2013).
Elisa is a popular celebrity mommy blogger for People.com (http://celebritybabies.people.com/category/elisa-donovan-blog/), and was just voted a "fan favorite" by People magazine. Elisa is also the voice for the audiobook of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg’s #1 bestselling book Lean In.
Originally from Northport, Long Island, Elisa grew up studying acting, dance and photography, as well as riding horses competitively. She graduated from Eugene Lang College at The New School University in NYC, where she studied dramatic literature, acting and writing. In addition to acting and writing, Elisa also assists in counseling and supporting women struggling with eating disorders, and is a proponent of spreading awareness and recovery. She lives in San Francisco with her husband Charlie Bigelow and their daughter Scarlett Avery Bigelow.
