Danny Trejo Snapshot
Danny Trejo is one of the most well-known actors of our time, and his roles in more than 200 films over the past 25 years have made him a star not only to a generation who remember his many bad-guy characters of the 1980s and 90s, but also for kids who grew up with his character Uncle Machete in the Spy Kids movies and now have embraced his work in a dozen other films, including Robert Rodriguez’ Mex-ploitation film Machete, which released in 2010, in which Trejo had the starring role. The film also starred Robert DeNiro, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal and Michele Rodriguez.
In 2012 the second of the series --Machete Kills--wrapped production in July, with Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Amber Heard, Mel Gibson, Charlie Sheen, and Lady GaGa in her first feature film role. It promises to be an even more exciting ride.

In addition to having worked with nearly every star in Hollywood, and many great directors, Trejo is a hero to the Latino community world-wide, having started out on the streets of Pacoima in Los Angeles and overcome a childhood of crime, drug-addiction and prison. Trejo was in and out of jail for 11 years and while serving time in San Quentin, Folsom and Soledad, won the lightweight and welterweight boxing titles of all three prisons. Imprisoned for armed robbery and drug offenses, he found his way to a 12-Step program that changed his life.
