Tell Ava Cowan you like this

January 14, 2013Every Morning that we that rise, our mindset is much different then the night before.

When the body recharges itself through sleep, so does the mind. It is scientifically proven that the brain will send out chemicals to silence parts of itself and the body. Not going deeply into science... sometimes you may wake up more tired than when you went to sleep, which simply means you did not recharge. This typically occurs when we are at war with our day before we go to bed. Remember to make peace with your day before you go to bed, however you see fit. I allow myself 5 minutes of frustration time and then I let it go!

Bedtime tip: Here are a few ways of the ways I unwind and put this "letting go" into practice. Meditating is extremely calming but can seem a bit confusing in the beginning. In that case, you could download free apps or purchase audio downloads that guide the meditation. If that doesn't interest you, listen to sounds of nature or simply focusing on simple breathing can be effective as well. Those are just a few ways to redirect racing thoughts back into the present and into a deeply "recharged" sleep.
