Months ago, Jim Carrey teased the fact that he was writing a new book for children, which he dubbed “metaphysical.” The first copies of his self-published How Roland Rolls have arrived, and Carrey provided a glimpse of the cover.
Roland himself looks mighty happy considering he’s a sentient wave coming to terms with his own mortality. “How Roland Rolls is a story about a wave named Roland who’s afraid that, one day, when he hits the beach, his life will be over,” reads the book’s description. Deep stuff. Roland later learns that a singular wave is actually part of a greater oceanic whole, so his fear is abated. How Roland Rolls is officially out September 24. The entire ocean is waiting.
