Look Who's Been Cast in the New "Fantastic Four"
Meet the new Sue Storm.
Step aside Jessica Alba—there's a new Sue Storm in town.
"House of Cards'" Kate Mara has been cast as Sue Storm/Invisible Girl for the reboot of 20th Century Fox's "Fantastic Four," which will be released in June of 2015. She joins "That Awkward Moment's" Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller, as well as "Jumper" star Jamie Bell, who will be picking up the roles of Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Dr. Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, and Ben Grimm/The Thing, respectively.
The film, which has been in the works since 2009, will be produced by Akiva Goldsman, written by Michael Green, and directed by Josh Trank. Shooting will take place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where the filmmakers will recreate the Central City, California from the "Ultimate Fantastic Four" comic.
There have been three previous "Fantastic Four" films—"The Fantastic Four" (1994), "Fantastic Four" (2005), and its sequel "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" (2007). The 2005 and 2007 films, featuring Ioan Gruffudd (as Dr. Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic), Jessica Alba (as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman), Chris Evans (as Johnny Storm/Human Torch), and Michael Chiklis (as Ben Grimm/The Thing), grossed over $600 million worldwide. Those are big shoes for the 2015 reboot to fill, and we're eager to see what's in store.
