Maggie Gyllenhaal Is Headed to Broadway
The "Donnie Darko" actress takes on a new role alongside Ewan McGregor.
Maggie Gyllenhaal is one versatile actress, and now she's adding yet another role to her impressive resume. The talented star, known for her roles in indie cinema ("Donnie Darko"), romantic comedies ("Trust the Man"), and action blockbusters ("The Dark Knight"), will make her Broadway debut this fall.
Maggie will share the stage with Ewan McGregor ("I Love You Phillip Morris," "Trainspotting") in "The Real Thing"—a revival of Tom Stoppard's play, which will be directed by Sam Gold. Maggie and Ewan will take on the roles of "illicit lovers" in this story about relationships and fidelity that won the Tony Award for Best Play in 1984.
"The Real Thing," starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and Ewan McGregor, opens on October 30 at the American Airlines Theater. Previews begin on October 2.
