Gabby Douglas narrowly missed becoming a household name.

The American Olympic gymnast, who made history during the London 2012 Olympics by winning Team Competition and All-Around gold medals, opened up to Oprah about the bullying and isolation she suffered during early training. "I was just, you know, kind of getting racist jokes, kind of being isolated from the group," she said.

Fortunately, her drive and perseverance kept her on the right track. The rest, as they say, is history. Fast forward to 2014, when Douglas got to guest-host CBS' "Inside Edition" at Super Bowl XLVIII, as part of the media tour following the premiere of the Lifetime biopic "The Gabby Douglas Story"—a true story about Gabby's inspirational journey toward making her Olympic dreams come true.
