Actor, director, producer...doodler. Ron Howard is a man of many hats (including his signature basebal cap).

Despite his busy schedule (he's currently filming his latest project "In the Heart of the Sea"), Ron still manages to find time to support the charities and causes near to his heart—even while he's on the phone. Talk about multitasking.

Ron recently released four limited-edition mugs featuring fun and funky doodles that he drew on his downtime. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Here's how Ron explained his creative process:

"The doodle on this mug is the result of a fun exercise I do while on the phone. I scribble three random lines on the back of a production memo card and then while concentrating on my conversation, a little graphic starts to take shape and I go with it. And some of them really make me smile. Over the course of a few calls I color them in. I've made hundreds, but here are some that I like enough to share."

And a little more about his involvement with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America:

"I've decided that this edition should benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of America because I believe the organization does vital work supplying young people from all corners of the U.S. with the facilities, inspiration and tools that promote healthy, fulfilled and successful futures for a generation our country will one day depend on."

Take a look at four of his best sketches below and visit his shop to buy your very own Ron Howard original. And don't forget to follow his WhoSay account for more exclusive behind-the-scenes posts from the man himself.
