Even though Idina Menzel is getting rave reviews for her performance as Elsa, the Snow Queen, in "Frozen," she's hasn't forgotten her Broadway roots. The Tony-winning actress, known for her memorable roles in "Wicked" and "Rent," is returning to the stage on March 5 in "If/Then," a brand-new musical created by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey ("The New Normal").

“I waited for the right thing that was special and challenging,” Idina said in an interview with Broadway Direct. "In the downtime, I have become a mother—I have a 4-year-old son,” she continues. “And I have changed a lot of my expectations and priorities, so I just wanted to make sure that I am doing something that I love and with people that I love.”

In "If/Then," Idina plays a 40-year-old woman named Elizabeth who decides to start her life over by moving from Phoenix, Arizona to Manhattan.

“She has enough courage to make that choice but it is still a terrifying move," says Idina. "We follow Elizabeth’s choices and her circumstances, and how fate and chance all play within and around each other. She is a city planner, which is kind of cool, because the city is a very wonderful character in the show itself.”

We can't wait to see Idina rock this challenging new role. Scroll down for pictures of Idina rehearsing for "If/Then" and click here to purchase tickets.

"If/Then" opens on March 5 at the Richard Rodgers Theater in New York City.
