"Wrecking Ball" singer Miley Cyrus made headlines today after tweeting and Instagramming a photo of herself wearing a Marc by Marc Jacobs pro-same sex marriage t-shirt that reads, "I pay my taxes. I want my rights."

While the twerking and tongue-wagging young celebrity (whose aforementioned video broke YouTube/Vevo's most viewed record with 12.3 million views in the first 24 hours) is often in the news, there are advantages to notoriety, as she used her sizable soapbox of 16 million Twitter and 8 million Instagram followers to speak out about a cause that is also getting a lot of buzz this year.
