The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has officially started voting for the 2014 Academy Awards nominees. The secret and, for second year in a row, electronic voting will be cast until January 8. The nominees will be announced on January 16.

The Academy Awards ceremony, scheduled for May 2, will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres for the second time (she first hosted at the 2007 ceremony).

If the Golden Globes and SAG Awards nominations are any indication, more than a few WhoSayers could be nominated for the Academy Awards this year. Among them, Tom Hanks should definitely be considered for his two solid performances in "Captain Phillips" and "Saving Mr. Banks."

Another potential nominee could be Matthew McConaughey, who's been nominated for the SAG Awards as Best Actor for "Dallas Buyers Club."

Don't forget Kristen Bell, whose animated film "Frozen" got the nod from both the Golden Globes and SAG Awards.

Lastly, Elizabeth Banks could be up for a golden statue if her movie "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" takes some of the nominations this year.

We wish the best of luck to the actors, actresses, directors, producers, writers, and others up for awards this year and can't wait to see who'll be nominated on January 16.
