Katherine Heigl wants you to make her Christmas extra expensive this year. No, she won’t be buying you a new car—the former “Grey’s Anatomy” actress is offering to match any donation to the Heigl Foundation dollar for dollar, up to $100,000 this December. All proceeds will go directly to helping animals in need and raising awareness about the inhumane treatment of abused and neglected animals.

The foundation, founded by Katherine and her mother in 2008, is dedicated to the memory of her younger brother Jason who died in a tragic car accident when he was only 15 years old. Jason loved animals as a child, and Katherine is doing her part to make sure that his legacy of caring for animals lives on in the Heigl Foundation.
