Celebrities honor the life of the "Fast and Furious" star.

Tributes are pouring out in social media as celebrities and fans mourn the loss of "The Fast and the Furious" action series star Paul Walker, who died Saturday in a car crash in Southern California. He was 40 years old.

The actor's representatives confirmed the news on his Facebook and Twitter pages, stating that the actor and a friend were attending a charity event for his organization "Reach Out Worldwide" when the crash took both their lives. The nonprofit aids in rescue and recovery following major natural disasters around the globe.

Walker was in the midst of filming "Fast and Furious 7," slated to be released in July 2013. His "Fast and Furious" costar Jordana Brewster wrote on WhoSay, "Paul was pure light. I cannot believe he is gone." He will also appear in the upcoming "Hours," starring alongside Genesis Rodriguez

Walker is survived by his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow Rain Walker.
