Hollywood’s finest gathered at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City last night to honor the Top 10 CNN Heroes of 2013. The event, which was hosted by CNN regular Anderson Cooper, pays tribute to ordinary citizens who have gone above and beyond in their service to others. Comedian Jim Gaffigan took us inside the star-studded affair, sharing pics of himself with fellow celebrity presenters like comedian Sarah Silverman and hip-hop artist Ne-Yo.

The title of CNN Hero of the Year and $250,000 in grant money was given to Chad Pregracke of East Moline, Illinois, who has devoted his life to cleaning up the Mississippi River and other polluted waterways. Take a look at the evening's highlights below, and join us in congratulating Chad and all of the nominees for CNN's Heroes of the Year.

The seventh annual broadcast of “CNN Heroes: An All Star Tribute” will air Sunday, December 1 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
